How to use the 1 week fast track service?
To use the one week fast-track passport appointment service, you must first book an appointment by phone. The HM Passport Office has a dedicated phone line for this purpose, which can be reached by calling the urgent appointment line. When you call, you will be asked to provide some personal details, such as your name, address and date of birth.
You will then be asked which of the 7 national passport offices, as follows:
London Passport Office
Peterborough Passport Office
Newport Passport Office
Liverpool Passport Office
Durham Passport Office
Glasgow Passport Office
Belfast Passport Office
Once you choose an office, you will then need to choose a time to attend, HM Passport Office offer 30 minute time slots.
You will then be required to make payment via credit/debit card in order to confirm the booking, these cost are as follows:
• Adult Fast Track Cost: £142
(or £152 for a 50 page passport)
• Child Fast Track Cost: £122
(or £132 for a 50 page passport)
Traveling to your Fast Track service
(!) You will need to ensure that you leave more than enough time when attending your appointment, as if you are late or miss it HM Passport Office will not refund the appointment fee, they may also not be able to accommodate you for other appointments on that day as they may be fully booked with other appointment customers on the remaining time slots.
For this reason we advise to leave at least 1 hour earlier then the journey time estimates in case of traffic or travel delays with vehicle accidents, train delays etc.

2) First Time Child Passport (Under 16 years of age)
3) Renewal of Child Passport

(!) It is also important to note that the service is NOT available for Adults (over the age of 15 years) when applying for a passport for the first time.
Important information that may effect some fast track appointments
Take documents with you
In order to use this fast-track service, applicants must bring a complete application form (which you must obtain from a local Post Office, you cannot download and print a passport form) along with two passport-sized photographs to the appointment. The application must be filled out in full, without any mistakes on the passport form
If you are renewing a passport you will also need to take the current/existing passport with you.
If your passport is lost or stolen
If your passport is lost of stolen then you will need to fill in all sections on the passport form, including parents details, you will also need to report your passport as lost or stolen prior to attending the fast-track appointment, see more information on lost or stolen passport applications.
You may need someone to countersign your form and photos
If your passport is lost or stolen, or this is a first time child appointment, you will also need to find someone who can countersign the passport form and photos prior to attending, see more information on countersigning a passport form.
If you child is turning 16 within 2 weeks of the fast track appointment date
Something important that is often overlooked by parents applying for a teenagers passport is that if the child is turning 16 within 2 weeks of the appointment date then they will not be able to use the 1 week fast track service. If this is the case they will only be able to use the first time adult service which could take 6-8 weeks to complete.
To avoid this issue simply book or move your appointment so that the date is not within 2 weeks of the child's birthday, this can even be by one day, if this is the case and a child passport is granted just prior to the childs/adults birthday then they are still able to use this passport for the full 5 year duration until they are 20 years of age.
